Your wedding cake will be one of the most
memorable details of your wedding day, a showpiece that guests will talk about to friends and family. At Conner's
Cakes & More, we believe that your cake should not only look beautiful, but taste spectacular as well. That is why we
offer a variety of cake flavors and styles to fit your special day. All of our cakes are made to order from the freshest
natural ingredients.
Decorations:
Conner's Cakes
& More specializes in wedding cakes that are not only decorative, but also elegant and subtle. Decorations
can be minimal or include swags, ruffles, basketweave, or Royal Icing flowers. A popular option is an
all-white decorated cake with the color coming from fresh flowers. Sometimes we can decorate your cake to reflect the
subtle artistry of your wedding dress. Pictures of ideas that you have found are welcome and invited. We want
to customize your cake to fit your wedding style and theme.
Ordering
Information: Wedding
cake prices are determined on a per person basis, and may vary according to the type of cake, icings, and decorations requested.
To create your beautiful and delicious cake, choose up to two of the cake flavors from our wide selection and the icing of
your choice. If we do not have your flavor of choice on our list, please ask. We will do everything we can
to create the cake you want.
We encourage
you to call and make an appointment with us as soon as possible to plan your cake, have a tasting, and reserve your wedding
date. We require a minimum of two weeks notice for any cake for over 50 people. A non-refundable deposit
of $50 will be required upon booking your cake. Our email is at info@connerscakes.com.
Cake
Prices:
All
cakes are priced per person. We will usually give you more cake than you need to feed the number of people. Our
portions are based on a 2-inch x 1-inch slice of cake. All brides have the option of choosing a 3-inch tier (traditionally
to save the top tier for their first anniversary). Also prices may decrease or increase for cakes to feed over 200 people,
or under 50 people respectively.
Prices
start at $2.00 per serving for birthday and all-occasion cakes and $3.00 per serving for wedding cakes. Flavoring
for the cake and/or the icing and any decorations chosen can be added at an additional cost.
Delivery and
Set-up Charges:
Because
of the complexity and fragile nature of wedding cakes, tiered cakes and "3-D cakes", a delivery fee will be charged,
if you wish to have your cake delivered to your reception/designated site. If your cake has a column construction or
needs detailed on-site assembly an additional charge will be added. There is also a deposit of $100 required for any
cake style or design that uses any fountains, staircases, columns or other "permanent" equipment. (*This deposit
will be refunded to you provided the equipment is returned is good condition within 10 days of the event.)
Wedding Cakes and all other "tiered" cakes:
Delivery fee is $25 and Set-up fee is $25.* (Local delivery in the Hilliard, Florida area is $5.00 off Delivery
and Set-Up fees.)
Birthday and All-Occasion Single-layer
cakes: Delivery fee is $10.00.* (*Local delivery in the Hilliard, Florida area is free of charge.)
Cake Flavors:
White cake--moist,
vanilla cake with real vanilla bean seed for extra flavor
Chocolate cake--moist, rich, milk chocolate flavor (voted
best chocolate cake by many of our clients)
Lemon, Raspberry, Orange, or Strawberry Cake--subtle flavors in our
white cake. We use real juice that adds zest to this cake.
Carrot Cake--with raisins and walnuts.
Pound Cake--lemon poppyseed,
coconut, or almond.
Fruit Cake--a European favorite!
(This list is not exhaustive of what we can do, it just covers the
basics.)
Fillings and Frostings:
Buttercream-- Our most popluar icing. It is light, yet not too sweet.
This is what we use to ice the outside of the cake. It can be flavored as well. Flavors include, but are
not limited to, chocolate, orange, lemon, coffee, and raspberry.
Lemon Curd-- a tangy, lemon cream filling. (additional
charge of $.50 per person)
Mousse
fillings-- chocolate, strawberry, lemon, and raspberry. (additional charge of $.50 per person)
Groom's Cakes:
Many brides
ask what is a groom's cake and where did this tradition originate. We don't know the exact origin, but it does
tend to be more of a Southern tradition. The groom's cake used to be either chocolate or fruitcake that was individually
boxed and was given as a favor to guests to take home. Today, groom's cakes are usually chocolate cakes, but they can
be any flavor, especially if the the groom has a favorite, since it is his cake. Groom's cakes can be tiered cakes,
like a wedding cake, although usually much smaller, or they can be shaped or decorated to reflect the groom's interests or
hobbies. This cake can be served either at the rehearsal dinner, or at the wedding. If it is served on the wedding
day, the groom's cake is usually on a separate table from the wedding cake, but is served at the same time as the wedding
cake.
We would love to create a unique
cake to honor your groom as well. Prices are the same as the wedding cake prices for tiered cakes (with the same delivery
and set up fees) and the same price as birthday and all-occasion cakes for single-layer cakes (with the same delivery
fees). However, we can work to fit a budget or size cake you need.
